Pick a colour, any colour?

Well today saw me putting some finishing touches to the machine, which i reckon there will be a few more finishing touches, but mainly on the retro lights on rightSideMachinePart1Base as i know it as in maya and photoshop, so yeah we decided to go back to the original of red, grenn and blue. I like them, but also liked the cool colours it was a tough decision. Was also able to get the oxygen tank sorted which was nice, so for now im gona look at the radiator and wait for the bed to come my way. I cant wait for that got some good ideas for the bed! Hope it will al go well, in the mean time enjoy some pics of the machine!

Today

Guys been struggling a lil bit with so much going on and that Edge thanks for the text will do my best to do it, its anoying how long it is taking to do the machine. Sound like grigs, lol!

But today i been doing dissertation, just want to sort it out guys its worth a sixth of this year which is a fair bit and it does take time to do well and i want to do well. After Edge tx me i did feel a bit quilty not doin any machine and having to bad days hasnt helped but their is a light at the end of the tunnel and i am nearly out of it. Initial pump is done will need some tweaking but i wana do the basics for it all, would rather have it all basic textured by monday if it is making us fall behind and leave instead of another two weeks on it or something, just bare with me on this one.

Machine sorted!?!

Well, its been a long time coming but the machine is pretty much sorted and all its glory can be seen below. We need to make sure it is pretty much perfect as it is such a huge asset to the film, some may even say it is its own character.

Ther are some minor tweaks to it a bit more detail in some of the dials, the neon lights so to speak need sorting, but im gona wait for friday and talk to alex hulse as he had some ideas using planes then blurring them in after effects. Some of the rust needs changing colour to match it all together. Buttons bottom right need something done they are a bit bland at the moment. Edgley needs to hand me a image and we are sorted.

With this said these tasks shouldnt take to long however ther are the other maps bump/displacement, reflection and spec!

Cheeky bit of modelling

Whilst waiting for some occlusions i did some modelling from the list Alec had shown on the blog i dunno if they were for everyone or a reminder for him but i decided to do some, so here is a clipboard and a plaque for the room. I think its Edgleys style.

Where is that Machine?

Well, good question. I have been pretty much working solidly on the machine and it is now really coming together, trial and error is the only way you are going to learn. I have learnt from my mistakes and im now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The machine was looking good from a distance and the team were excited and happy, i then on my own had worries about a close up and they cam true the machine looked like a N64 game now this isnt bad if it was 10 years ago, but were not. So after jigging the uvs i have been able to get some detail in, you can see the difference a little from the images below.

It was a bit anoying as you can see below that the base texturing was done and i was easily gona hit my target of finishing on Friday, i still hope to but i may need the weekend. I can reuse some of the old material from the machine and put it into the uv space, but some will have to be remade. This had to be done though we want everything looking right and i couldnt just go by knowing that it would look awful close up, i tried uping the texture to 8192 by 8192 my comp could handle but it was laggy so creating new texture maps was the longer but more sustainable solution.

Below is the part1 of the left machine as you can see the detail is alot nicer closer up this is only the color map so bump, spec, reflection will all need to be done making it even more amazing. I like this part so far and i hope you do to. Little bits like dirt still need to be added but yeah its getting their.
