Half man half machine!

Well firstly is an image i have produced last night this texture has been done using just brushes in photoshop and i think looks pretty sweet.

Secondly, is an update on the uv mapping and what has been achieved so far.

Thirdly is the same image but with comments on some stuff that needs clarifying if you know the answer.

  1. I like the texture in the top image, though I'd use it as a layer on top of another base texture. It's pretty difficult to judge textures until you have the right lighting, maybe when Alec should sort himself out.

  2. Yeah Simon the progress is good mate, however its still looking really pixelated and blurry? dont know if thats just the crappy jpeg you've uploaded? As for the texture, its getting there, as phil said its gonna need more layers and development. Not sure on the colour either, maybe slightly darker? More rust, inconsistancies, and hints of grease/grime. The lighting should help bigtime. Well played mate X

  3. yeah i know what you mean more layers etc as for the blurryness in photoshop need to sharpen it and in maya i need to take out the prefilter as this blurs it! I always saw the machine as lighter but will try darker and stuff. Not tonight though done a fair bit of work. Rust is tricky, grease will be an ease know how to do that. And as posted before each part has its own texture map so ther will be 11 in total i think for the machine!
